Schedule for Special Elections for Cobb County Commissioner Districts 2 and 4

The Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration (BOER) has announced the schedule for the Special Elections for Cobb County Commissioner Districts 2 and 4:

• Qualifying Period: December 18–20, 2024
• Primary Election: February 11, 2025
• Runoff Election (if necessary): March 11, 2025
• General Special Election: April 29, 2025

The BOER waited until after November’s General Election to finalize these dates, as they depended on the possibility of a runoff (which ultimately was not required).

Advance Voting: Available at select locations for these elections.
Eligibility: Only voters residing in Cobb Commission Districts 2 and 4 will be eligible to participate.

This special election was ordered by a Cobb County Superior Court Judge following a ruling that deemed the county’s use of home rule powers to redraw its commission maps unconstitutional.
