Sally Riddle honored with NAACP Award

Share

Sally Riddle, a South Cobb resident and co-founder of the Cobb Coalition for Public Safety, was honored with the 2025 Living the Dream Award at the Cobb County NAACP’s 37th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. Riddle received the prestigious award in recognition of her work as a social justice advocate.

Cobb NAACP President Jeriene Bonner Willis and Frances “Missy” Cook, last year’s award recipient, presented Riddle with the honor. Bonner Willis praised Riddle for her dedication to making a difference in the community, emphasizing that the Living the Dream Award is the centerpiece of the annual celebration.

Riddle reflected on the coalition’s origins, which were rooted in concerns about policing in the community. Over time, the group has grown to become a powerful example of what can be achieved when individuals come together across differences—whether racial, political, or otherwise. Riddle explained, “It’s a coalition of volunteers in the community, and it shows what people, when they band together and form a coalition across aisles, across races, across political parties, what they can do in the community.”

Her work and leadership have had a significant impact, exemplifying the power of community collaboration in the pursuit of justice and positive change.
