Cobb County Manager Dr. Jackie McMorris receives public service award

During the Cobb Chamber’s annual dinner at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Dr. Jackie McMorris, County Manager for Cobb County Government, was awarded the prestigious 2025 Mack Henderson Public Service Award. This award honors individuals whose dedication to improving the quality of life for Cobb County residents reflects the philanthropic legacy of the late Mack Henderson.

Dr. McMorris, who has been with Cobb County Government for over a decade, was recognized for her steadfast commitment to collaboration and progress. Her leadership played a vital role in major community-shaping projects such as Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta, both of which have greatly contributed to the county’s economic growth and its vibrant community atmosphere.

In addition to her work on these landmark projects, McMorris also ensured the safety and success of the 2021 World Series and its championship parade, demonstrating her exceptional skill in managing large-scale events and collaborating with various partners to protect and serve the public. The chamber said McMorris’ contributions have left an indelible mark on Cobb County.

Since taking office as County Manager in April 2020, Dr. McMorris has had a transformative impact on Cobb County. Her prior experience as Deputy County Manager and Public Services Agency Director, along with her continued collaboration with the Cobb Chamber, the Braves, and other stakeholders, ensures her legacy as a driving force behind the county’s ongoing progress and success.
