New Dates added for Vision to Learn at South Cobb Library and other County library locations

Share

Vision To Learn provides eye exams and prescription glasses — free of charge to the children and their families — for students ages 5-18. Eight July dates have been added to the Vision To Learn summer break calendar including the South Cobb Library and other Cobb County Public Library locations that will host the on-site mobile clinics.

Vision To Learn is a popular program with registration required and space limited. The registration form for July is at forms.gle/jwQnrSMG5S3AZza36.

This is the sixth summer of VTL at Cobb Libraries and it is reaching even more children. In 2022, almost 400 exams were conducted that resulted in more than 250 students receiving prescription glasses.

Tom Brooks, Cobb library communications specialist and an organizer of the VTL said, “The Vision To Learn professional teams and our Cobb library colleagues work tirelessly and efficiently to strive to close the vision care gap in the community. This is life-changing work backed by many community partners supporting Cobb students’ success in school and in life.”

“While the number of Vision To Learn clinics appears impressive — and it is — we expect the appointments will continue to fill up fast,” Brooks added, “so parents and caregivers should act soon to request appointments and be certain they can follow-through with getting to the appointments so as many children as possible can be served.”

The summertime 2023 Vision To Learn library visits, all scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., include:

♦ July 3 at Powder Springs Library, 4181 Atlanta Street in Powder Springs.

♦ July 6 and July 27 at Switzer Library, 266 Roswell Street in Marietta.

♦ July 7, July 12 and July 28 at North Cobb Regional Library, 3535 Old 41 Highway in Kennesaw.

♦ July 10, July 13 and July 14 at South Cobb Regional Library, 805 Clay Road in Mableton.

♦ July 13 at Sibley Library, 1539 South Cobb Drive in Marietta.

♦ July 26 at Sewell Mill Library, 2051 Lower Roswell Road in Marietta.
