Cobb District Attorney Flynn Broady announced that an Atlanta man, Corley Willis, has been found guilty of rape. Willis, 34, was convicted of raping a woman in her Kennesaw home on April 7, 2022.
According to the arrest warrant, Willis was engaged in consensual sexual activity with the victim, but she became uncomfortable and asked him to leave. Willis became violent and produced a handgun. He forced the victim back into her bedroom and raped her with the gun to her back.
The Cobb County Police Department investigated the alleged crime and arrested Willis months later in late August 2022.
During Willis’ two-day trial, the jury reviewed the evidence, including DNA which connected Willis to the rape. The jury returned with a guilty verdict.
