Homeowner charged in deadly shooting at Vinings townhomes

Deandra Benson-Perryman, 36, a resident of the Vinings townhome complex, Reverie on Cumberland, was arrested after Cobb County Police responded to his home and found a gunshot victim shot multiple times. 

On Friday, February 10, Cobb police were called to the complex off Cumberland Parkway around 6:42 p.m. and found the 31-year-old victim, Timothy Bennett. 

Bennett was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital but was pronounced dead. Benson-Perryman was charged with murder and aggravated assault. Police interviews with witnesses said an altercation occurred between the two men before Bennett was shot. 

Benson-Perryman is currently being held at the Cobb County jail without bond.
