A Dallas man, Deandre Brown, is facing charges related to the robbery and attempted robbery of two banks in Cobb County.
In the first incident, which occurred Nov. 22 at 4:40 p.m. at a Marietta Truist Bank, located at 1331 Johnson Ferry Road, Brown, 26, allegedly entered the bank, keeping his hand in his pocket as if holding something, and yelled, “This is a robbery. Give me all the $50s and $100s.” Truist Bank employees did not comply with his demands, and Brown fled the scene on foot.
The second incident took place Nov. 27 at 4:42 p.m. at a Smyrna 5th 3rd Bank located at 2197 Cobb Parkway. Brown reportedly entered the bank, lifted his black hooded sweatshirt to reveal a black handgun tucked into his waistband, and demanded money.
Brown placed $1,985 into a green Pringles chip can before fleeing the bank. Surveillance footage recorded the incident, leading to an arrest warrant issued by the Marietta Police Department.
Brown was later identified through an active warrant for bank robbery by the Cobb County Police Department and another warrant for a Nov. 18 bank robbery issued by the Atlanta Police Department. He was apprehended after a traffic stop.
A search warrant executed on his red Toyota Prius uncovered the clothing worn during the incidents, the Pringles can used to stash money, and a Sig Sauer P320 9mm handgun.
Brown is facing charges of armed robbery with a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and attempted armed robbery. He was arrested on Nov. 29 at 2:40 p.m. and is currently held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
