Covington man accused of shooting at car in South Cobb hotel parking lot

A Covington man, Akil Al’hijr White, is accused of firing a gun into a vehicle in a hotel parking lot near the residential rooms of the Efficiency Lodge at 1968 Veterans Memorial Highway in Austell.
The security cameras at the hotel recorded, White, 35, allegedly firing his gun on Dec. 10 at 6:50 a.m. into the hood and front windshield of a 2001 gold Chevrolet Tahoe in the parking lot.
The Austell Police Department arrested White and charged him with reckless conduct, discharging a weapon on the property of another, and second-degree criminal damage.
According to jail records, White was arrested on Dec. 11 and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He was later released on a $7,500 bond.
