Austell Man accused of engaging in a sex act with a child

An Austell man, Jeremiah Christopher Weems, is accused of engaging in a sex act with a seven-year-old child in a townhome within the Crestview Townhomes near Riverside Parkway.

According to an arrest warrant issued by the Cobb County Police Department, Weems, 19, is accused of engaging in a sex act with the child between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30 at 7211 Crestside Drive in Mableton, formerly Austell. Weems was arrested and charged with aggravated sodomy.

According to jail records, Weems was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center and remains in custody without bond.
