Austell Teen Accused of Stabbing Mother with Scissors

An Austell teen, Taylor Le-Nayah Evans, was arrested after being accused of stabbing her mother, Lekeita Slaton, in the chest with scissors at their home located at 7241 Bridgeport Court in Austell, a residence in the Bridgeport subdivision off Blairs Bridge Road near the intersection of I-20 and Thornton Road.

According to the Cobb County Police arrest warrant, Evans, 17,was arguing with her mother on Jan. 20 at 8:50 a.m. about having to run errands. Slaton turned to leave and Evans picked up the scissors and attacked her from behind.

According to the warrant, Slaton suffered two lacerations across her chest and left breast.

Charged with aggravated assault, Evans was arrested on Jan. 20 at 9:09 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records. She was later released on a $15,000 bond.
