The deadly August 2022 shooting of Demetrius Dow, 40, at a Vining’s apartment complex has led to the re-indictment of one man and the first time indictment of another by a Cobb grand jury.
Ambakisye Mizell, 29, was arrested in December and indicted in Dow’s murder. At the time, he was charged with malice murder, three counts of felony murder, aggravated assault and an attempt to commit armed robbery. Mizell has been reindicted in the case, this time with co-defendant Gregory Tyrone Graham. Graham, 40, of Atlanta, is accused of working with Mizell to rob Dow of a Rolex watch.
Cobb police responded to a call at the District at Vinings apartment complex at 2800 Paces Ferry Road around 4 a.m. on Aug. 28 after receiving a report that someone had been shot. First responders attempted to treat Dow for his gunshot wounds, but he died at the scene.
On the indictment, Graham and Mizell are listed as co-defendants, and each faces charges including one count of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm by a first offender on probation and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The warrant for Graham’s arrest, filed on April 5, alleges Mizell discharged the gun that killed Dow.
According to the Cobb Sheriff’s Office, Graham joins Mizell at the Cobb jail. Both men are held without bond.
