The Cobb County Police Department arrested and took Oskar Tapia Gonzalez, a resident of Cartersville, into custody in connection with the stabbing of two individuals at the Coca-Cola Roxy in The Battery Atlanta.
Gonzalez, aged 40, is alleged to have stabbed two men from Tustin, California, aged 27 and 31, following a September 8 concert.
The victims sustained “multiple stab wounds” and were promptly transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment, thanks to the immediate care provided by first responders and bystanders at the scene.
After an investigation into the assault, law enforcement identified the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a beige floral shirt and blue jeans. Officers located a man matching this description near a Shell gas station on Windy Hill Road and subsequently apprehended him for questioning. The individual was positively identified as Gonzalez and subsequently taken into custody.
Gonzalez is now facing two counts of aggravated assault and is currently detained at the Cobb County jail. Records indicate that a bond of $20,000 has been set, but he is also subject to a hold from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Police urge anyone with information related to the case to contact them at 770-499-4111.
