Tragic Crash in Newton County Claims Life of Pregnant Teen

Share

Newton County, Ga — A tragic accident in Newton County on Friday claimed the lives of 19-year-old Jaylah Donald and her unborn baby boy. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Donald was a passenger in a vehicle that was “backing improperly” from a driveway when it was struck on the passenger side by a BMW. Investigators say the driver of the BMW was under the influence at the time of the crash. The driver of the car Donald was riding in was transported by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital. Authorities have not released an update on that individual’s condition.

Donald’s family described her as “loved deeply by everyone who knew her. She was sweet, joyful, caring, and always carried a beautiful smile. She had so much life ahead of her and so much love to give. She deserved more time. Her baby deserved a chance at life. Our hearts will forever ache for the future that was stolen from them.”

The community is also mourning the loss of Donald and her unborn son. Family members have launched a GoFundMe campaign to support funeral expenses and establish a memorial in their honor.

Friends, neighbors, and local residents have rallied around the family, sharing memories and offering support during this unimaginable time. Community members say the tragedy has united people, many of whom knew Donald personally or had been touched by her compassion.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, while the family focuses on commemorating the lives of Donald and her baby. The GoFundMe campaign provides a way for the community to contribute, honor their memory, and show solidarity with those left behind.

“Every act of kindness and support reminds us of her spirit,”
the family said. “We hope the memorial will serve as a lasting tribute to the love she shared and the lives she touched.”
