The most popular dog names of 2022

For most of us, our dogs are more than just a four legged friend. They are a major member of our family, sitting in the best seats in the house, eating from the good china, and sharing with you unconditional love at a moments’ notice. 

The most important part of owning a dog is giving your pet its name. Similar to the exercise we go through in naming our children, much care is given to selecting the name for your furry family member. Gone are the days when we chose a name based on coloring, or the shame of its tail. Much thought and sophistication are going into naming our pets who will be a part of our life for years.

American Kennel Club Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo got it right when she said, “Dogs are an important part of our families, and people take great care in choosing a name. It’s fun to see if a dog’s personality is reflected in its name.”
