Teen accused of killing juvenile in Delk Road apartment shooting

A teen has been arrested in a Delk Road apartment shooting that left a juvenile dead in late July, police said.

According to his arrest warrant, the incident took place at the Stratford Ridge Apartments located on Delk Road, resulting in the death of a juvenile.

Jacob J’Moni La’James Coggins, 17, was taken into custody on July 30, approximately two hours after the shooting took place. However, the warrant for his arrest does not specify the identity of the victim who lost their life in the tragic event.

According to the warrant, Coggins is alleged to have acted in coordination with another individual, Christopher Darrel McMutry, and are identified as co-defendants in their respective warrants. 

As he is not listed in Cobb jail records, the current status of McMutry’s whereabouts remains unclear.

Coggins is being held in custody at the Cobb County Jail without bail and charged with aggravated assault and murder, according to the jail records.
