Marietta murder suspect re-arrested

A Marietta man who was out on bond after being charged with murder in connection with a botched armed robbery, has been re-arrested and is back in jail after allegedly tampering with his monitoring device.

Tremyus Miller, 20, was out on $100,000 bond for the March 2020 murder of Machavellia Bagsby, one of Miller’s accomplices in an attempted robbery.

Miller’s warrant states he was under house arrest and had a Robocuff ankle monitor to track his movement.

Bagsby, Tremyus Miller and Taruss Miller, now 25, attempted to rob Eduardo Landaverde, who was 17 at the time, on March 22, 2020, according to warrants for Tremyus and Taruss Miller.

Landaverde shot and killed Bagsby, police said, and shot Taruss Miller in the leg.

While Landaverde allegedly killed Bagsby in self-defense, both Tremyus and Taruss Miller were arrested and charged with murder in Bagsby’s death, as Georgia law allows for individuals committing a crime to be held responsible for their accomplice’s death during the commission of that crime.

While Tremyus Miller was out on bond and under house arrest, he allegedly placed numerous materials on his ankle monitor, including tin foil, in an effort to tamper with the device.

In addition to tampering with the monitor, Miller is charged with felony escape for violating the conditions of his house arrest, which stated he was to wear the monitor and not leave the home located on Bethel Avenue in Dallas, the warrant says.

Taruss Miller has been held without bond in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center since March 24, 2020, for his role in the robbery of Landaverde and the death of Bagsby.

Tremyus Miller is now also being held there without bond, jail records indicate.
