Smyrna man accused of stabbing roommate

During an early morning incident on Saturday, Donald Stewart, 64, is accused of stabbing his roommate Roosevelt Garland. The Smyrna man faces aggravated assault charges stemming from the altercation with Garland.
Police were called to 1969 Harold Avenue in Smyrna. Upon arrival, they arrested Stewart and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after Stewart allegedly stabbed Garland in the right side of his torso five times with a pocket knife, arrest records state. He remains in the Cobb jail with a bond set at $20,000.
