Powder Springs men arrested for stealing metal, copper from business

Two Powder Springs men, Robert Rose and Kevin Ronte Rose, are accused of stealing several hundred pounds of scrap metal and copper from a local business on July 26..

According to arrest warrants from the Cobb County Police Department,  Rose, 52, and Ronte Rose, 29, unlawfully entered the premises of Legacy Mechanical Services at 1680 Roberts Boulevard in Kennesaw and disassembled HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units located in the rear section of the business to extract valuable materials.

The stolen items include 220 pounds of copper scrap, 225 pounds of motor/compressor scrap from six air conditioning units, 200 pounds of steel scrap, 26 pounds of recyclable refrigerant R22, and 250 pounds of motor/compressor scrap from additional units, specifically exhaust fans.

The duo is facing charges of three counts of theft by taking, each involving amounts surpassing $1,500.

Jail records show that both men were apprehended on August 2 and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Robert Rose was released on a $20,000 bond and Kevin Ronte Rose was released on a $15,000 bond.
