Police looking for person who shot, killed man at Cobb County hotel

The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at Budgetel Inn & Suites on 4900 Circle 75 Parkway in Atlanta on November 28, 2023.

Tragically, a 26-year-old individual, identified as Demarcus Watson, lost his life during the incident.

Investigators say two men got into an argument in the hotel lobby when one pulled out a gun and fired shots at the other. According to the Police, officers responded to a person shot call around 11:43 a.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered Watson. Despite their attempts to administer life-saving measures, they were unable to save him. The Major Crimes Unit of the department assumed control of the investigation.

Police have not identified a suspect, but are seeking information from the public. Watson’s next of kin has been notified. Anyone with information related to the shooting is urged to contact the Cobb County Police Tip Hotline at 770-499-4111.
