Miami homicide suspect arrested after chase, crash in Cobb

A Miami homicide suspect led police on a chase that ended in a crash in the Cumberland area of Cobb County. 

Gustavo Alexander Aviles, 36, was arrested at the corner of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road and taken into custody. 

Officers said they received a Flock License Plate Recognition notification for a car in the area that was connected to a homicide in Miami.

Aviles was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, a felony, as well as numerous misdemeanors related to traffic violations. He is being held without bond.

Aviles and one of the officers had to be treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Aviles was wanted for questioning in a south Florida homicide.
