Owens plans to bring a fresh perspective to Healthcare and Cybersecurity

During a recent meeting of the Cobb & Douglas County Board of Health, Mableton Mayor Michael Owens was sworn in as their newest member of the Board. Mayor Owens replaced Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin, who formerly represented the largest city in the County.

With Mableton’s population, which exceeds both Marietta and Smyrna, Owens will be assuming a number of positions on boards and commissions as he represents Mableton.

With a commitment to addressing health disparities and increasing access to essential health services, Mayor Owens’ appointment to the Cobb & Douglas County Board of Health is set to invigorate the pursuit of a healthier and more equitable community.

Owens’ stated focus on addressing  healthcare access and disparity challenges, holds great promise for improving the lives of Mableton residents.

With his extensive background in cybersecurity and data privacy, Mayor Owens brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. Recognizing the ever-growing threat of cyber attacks, especially in the healthcare sector, his insights will be invaluable as he adds his knowledge to mitigate against ransomware and other digital threats.

Dr. Janet Memark expressed her enthusiasm for Mayor Owens’s appointment, stating, “We are excited to welcome Mayor Owens to the Cobb County Board of Health. His deep commitment to addressing health disparities and his expertise in cybersecurity will undoubtedly propel our efforts towards a healthier and more resilient community. We look forward to working closely with Mayor Owens and leveraging his unique insights and experiences.”
