Marietta woman arrested after approaching officers with large knife

A Marietta woman, Crystal Elaine Phillips, was arrested after allegedly approaching officers while armed with a knife. According to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department, Phillips, 49, is accused of pulling a large kitchen knife from a concealed position and advancing toward two officers with the knife in her left hand at an apartment located at 2665 Favor Road SW in Marietta.
After several verbal commands to drop the weapon, Phillips allegedly lowered the knife to an offensive position and assumed a fighting stance. When officers disarmed her, Phillips attempted to reach for a second knife concealed in her waistband before being detained, according to the warrant.
Phillips has been charged with obstruction of law enforcement and aggravated assault on an officer with a weapon. She was arrested and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where she remains in custody without bond, according to jail records.
