Marietta woman accused of harming two-month-old baby

A Marietta woman, Fawzieh Mohammad, has been charged with aggravated battery and harming a two-month-old baby.

Mohammad, 43, is accused of causing a skull fracture, brain bleed, and shoulder blade fracture to a baby in her care on Aug. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at a home on Laurel Chase in Marietta. 

According to a Cobb County Police Department warrant, the injuries the baby sustained were not consistent with the story that Mohammad provided. She is accused of causing bodily harm to the infant and seriously disfiguring its body.

Mohammad is charged with three counts of aggravated battery and one count of first-degree cruelty to children. According to jail records, she was arrested on Aug. 31 and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

Mohammad remains in custody without bond.
