Man hospitalized after Vinings apartment shooting

The Cobb County Police Department said they are investigating a shooting at a Vinings apartment that sent an Atlanta man to the hospital. 

On Tuesday, around 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at Lake Ferry Lane, located in the District at Vinings apartment complex. Police found Nicholas Jones, 42, with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Investigators say following an argument between Jones and his girlfriend – which attracted the attention of neighbors – a man came to the apartment, started arguing with Jones, and ultimately ended up shooting him. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Jones was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and is in stable condition.
