Man accused of killing mother, stepfather and cousin in Mableton

Police have arrested Marcus Darnell Smith who they believe shot and killed his mother, stepfather, and cousin at the Mableton-area home on Tuesday.
Police say the triple shooting incident stemmed from a domestic dispute at 738 Gardner Street which left Donnell Peaks, 63, Janice Peaks, 60, and Cameron King, 38, with fatal gunshot wounds.
Donnell and Janice Peaks were pronounced dead at the scene. King died shortly after arrival at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Police say they responded to a shots-fired call at approximately 12:51 p.m. They found the gunshot victims and located Smith, 37, not far from the residence, on nearby Factory Shoals Drive. He was arrested and booked into the Cobb County jail, where he remains in custody without bond.
In the police warrant, Smith is accused of shooting Janice Peaks and King in the head, and shooting Donnell Peaks in the head and in the legs. He has been charged with three counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
