Mableton woman accused of intent to murder after cutting man’s neck

A Mableton woman, Serina Renee Alexander, has been charged with aggravated assault and intent to murder after being accused of cutting the throat of a man.
According to an arrest warrant by the Cobb County Police Department, 44-year-old Serina Renee Alexander, is accused of using a knife to cut Brian Byrd.
On July 30 at Charlotte Drive in Mableton, Byrd reported that Alexander had slit his throat, leading law enforcement to respond to a medical call at the location.
Upon arriving at the scene, an officer observed a blood trail leading to the front door of the residence.

After repeated attempts to make contact with no response, the officer eventually kicked down the door to gain access. Inside, they encountered Alexander and instructed her to get on the ground, subsequently detaining her.
Further examination revealed blood splatters in the living room, with a trail leading towards the restroom. A knife with blood on it was discovered in the living room.
Once officers located Byrd, they observed a bleeding laceration near his neck and a head wound that was covered in blood.
Alexander faces charges of aggravated assault with the intent to murder and obstruction/hindering law enforcement.
She was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. Alexander remains in custody without the possibility of bond.
