Duo arrested for having rifle on McEachern High campus

The Cobb County School District Police arrested two 18-year-olds, Brendan Andino of Douglasville, and Ruben Cumberlander of Powder Springs, for allegedly having a rifle on the campus of McEachern High School. Both were charged with disruption of public school education and reckless conduct.
According to warrants, Cumberlander entered school property with a suspected rifle, placing it inside a bathroom between 10:12 a.m. and 4 p.m. Andino was accused of possessing a suspected rifle on school property, causing alarm and endangering students, staff, and parents. The school district said in a statement that a photo of a student with a weapon was airdropped to other students. The statement said, “The Cobb County School District Police Department quickly responded, investigated, and apprehended the students involved. Both men face additional charges; Andino was charged with loitering for allegedly entering McEachern’s campus without enrollment, and both were found with marijuana during a search at the Cobb County jail. Cumberlander was released on a $10,000 bond, while Andino remains incarcerated.
