Tired of your high Georgia Power bills? You’re not alone—and you can do something about it by voting. Georgians for Affordable Energy, a non-profit advocacy organization committed to clean energy, affordable utility rates, and monopoly utility reform, urges Georgia voters to participate in the Democratic Primary Runoff for Public Service Commission, District 3—now underway.
Clean energy advocate Peter Hubbard is facing off against former Atlanta Councilwoman Keisha Waites, who has acknowledged being new to the complex world of utility regulation and energy policy. The runoff election will determine who secures the Democratic nomination for PSC District 3.

While District 3 includes Clayton, Fulton, and DeKalb counties, Public Service Commissioners are elected by voters statewide—so all Georgians, including EMC members, are encouraged to go to the polls for this important runoff election. Early voting is underway now, with the final opportunity to cast a ballot on Tuesday, July 15.
