Community Leader Cassandra Brown Launches Bid for Mableton City Council, District 4

Announces Vision to Strengthen Transparency, Smart Growth, and Quality of Life Through Community Leadership

Cassandra Brown, a longtime community advocate and business leader in Mableton, has officially launched her campaign for Mableton City Council, District 4. With a strong platform rooted in transparency, responsible development, and quality-of-life enhancements, Brown is offering citizens a vision of inclusive, accountable leadership during a pivotal time for the newly incorporated city.

Brown and her husband, Jeff, have called Mableton home for 23 years. A seasoned IT professional with over 30 years of experience in operations, business development, and sales, Brown led teams focused on efficiency and strategic growth, quailties she plans to bring to the District 4 Council role. Brown recently stepped away from the corporate sector to serve as Development Director for Students Without Mothers, a nonprofit supporting students overcoming adversity, further displaying her desire to help those within the community.

Brown’s deep commitment to Mableton is evident in her broad civic involvement. She has served on the Infrastructure & Facilities Citizens Oversight Committee, the Cobb Board of Education Literacy Council, CobbWorks, and currently sits on the board of the Mableton Improvement Coalition. She also helped shape the city’s future through the Mableton 2045 Comprehensive Development Plan Committee and completed the Cobb 101 Citizens Academy.

“Mableton is at a pivotal moment, and we need strong, experienced leadership that believes in our city’s future,” said Brown. “My work in education, infrastructure, workforce development, and city planning has prepared me to serve. I’m committed to building a government that works for the people—delivering real results and making sure residents have a voice, said Brown.”

Brown says her Priorities for Mableton Include:

• Good Governance: Promoting transparency, fiscal responsibility, and ethical leadership to ensure Mableton operates efficiently and minimizes costs for residents.
• Smart Growth & Zoning: Supporting walkable communities, green space preservation, and economic development, while aligning zoning with long-term land use plans.
• Quality of Life Enhancements: Expanding parks, youth sports, public art, and sustainability efforts while partnering with local businesses and nonprofits to support schools and neighborhoods.
• Efficient City Services: Prioritizing high-quality core services—like waste management, code enforcement, business licensing, and permitting—before expanding city responsibilities.
