Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has officially elected David Turner as its 37th International President, ushering in a new era of leadership marked by innovation, service, and forward-thinking strategy. The announcement came during the fraternity’s 2025 Conclave held in Tampa, Florida, where Turner was overwhelmingly selected by the Brotherhood to lead one of the most respected Black Greek-letter organizations in the world.

A longtime Sigma man and distinguished civic leader, Turner brings decades of organizational experience and transformational leadership to the presidency. His vision for the fraternity includes a strong focus on strategic execution, financial diversification, operational excellence, and technological advancement—all rooted in the founding principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service.

“I am deeply honored and incredibly excited to serve as the next President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. This is more than a position — it’s a calling to continue the legacy of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service,” said Turner. “My goal is to strengthen our bonds, elevate our impact in our communities, and empower every Brother to lead with purpose and pride. Together we will build on our great history and achieve the vision of our founders.”

Turner’s leadership within Phi Beta Sigma has been marked by unprecedented accomplishments, including:

  • Achieving record-breaking membership growth and retention
  • Creating historic Legacy Societies and launching the Perks at Work financial benefits program
  • Distributing nearly $1 million in grants to support local chapters
  • Amassing over $1 million in assets through strategic fundraising
  • Facilitating access to Google and Canva nonprofit licenses, and Google Career Certificate scholarships for members
  • Saving the fraternity over $100,000 in operational costs during Conclave Houston

As Great Lakes Regional Director, Turner drove a 30% increase in active collegiate chapters and a 23% increase in financial membership, while raising over $39,000 for the region. His prior role as International Auditor resulted in significant improvements in financial reporting, asset management, and tax compliance.

Outside of fraternity life, Turner serves as a Chief Financial Officer with more than 12 years of executive experience in real estate development and property management. He has taught accounting as an adjunct professor and has served on public policy advisory boards in Illinois and California.

He was honored by InterBusiness Issues Magazine as one of its “40 Leaders Under 40” and has been a featured speaker at national CFO forums focused on financial transformation and emerging technologies.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was founded in 1914 at Howard University and remains committed to the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, promoting meaningful change in communities across the globe.

Turner’s election signals a revitalized energy within Phi Beta Sigma, with a strong commitment to continuing the fraternity’s legacy as a global force for positive change.
