Cobb Sheriff’s office launches free public safety mobile app

Share

Residents in Cobb and Fulton County now have a new way to interact with law enforcement in their communities. The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office and Fulton County Sheriff’s Office have joined forces and launched a free mobile app aimed to improve customer service and deliver safety alerts to residents.

Users can submit crime tips, search jails for inmates, and search for registered sex offenders in their communities. Residents should still dial 911 for emergencies, but the “Submit a Tip” and “Contact Us” features of the apps allow residents to easily submit important information directly to the sheriff’s offices, the announcement said. The mobile app provides contact information, a list of sex offenders, detainee search, and easy access to the Cobb courts as well as other county-related sites.

Developed by a nationally recognized “The Sheriff’s App” company, the app is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Store for Android.

“We recognize the mobile phone has become the go-to place to immediately find quick information, look for jobs, pay bills, among other things,” said Cobb Sheriff Craig Owens. “Our mobile app is the easiest way to interact with our office and it’s a great tool to submit tips and help our local law enforcement agencies keep the people of Cobb County safe.”

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this free resource to stay informed on matters of public interest and safety in Cobb.
