The recurring sewage overflow incidents into our waterways continued as the Cobb County Water System spilled 11 millions gallons of raw sewage wastewater into the Chattahoochee River. With the raging storm and torrential downpours occurring across Cobb, the latest spills occurred at two different locations.
This alarming incident included a 6 million gallon spill at Paces Ferry and a 5 million gallon spill at Lee Industrial Blvd. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding how this latest spill was treated, raising concerns about the impact on our waterways and public health.
Cobb County Chair Lisa Cupid must address these recurring sewage overflow incidents to protect our environment and communities.
