Cobb County Art Teacher receives PAGE Professional Scholarship

Share

Kathleen Sneed Petka, an Art Teacher at Walton High School in the Cobb County School District, has been selected as one of the recipients of the prestigious PAGE Professional Scholarship.

Sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators Foundation, these scholarships, each valued at $1,500, are presented annually through the PAGE Foundation to PAGE members who are pursuing advanced degrees in education and commit to teaching in Georgia for a minimum of three years.

Petka, a resident of Marietta, is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership at Kennesaw State University.

The PAGE Foundation, operating as a 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on fundraising to support various initiatives undertaken by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE). These initiatives include fostering professional development, cultivating leadership qualities, and enhancing professional competence and confidence among educators.

The foundation actively encourages and receives charitable contributions that benefit PAGE’s competitive academic programs, such as PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition, PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon, and the PAGE Academic Bowl for Middle Grades.

Additionally, the foundation collaborates closely with PAGE to provide scholarships that support both aspiring and experienced educators in their educational pursuits.
