Chattahoochee Technical College celebrated the achievements of nearly 600 graduates during two commencement ceremonies on December 14 at the Clarence Brown Conference Center in Cartersville. The graduates, representing diverse programs of study, received Associate of Applied Science degrees, diplomas, or Technical Certificates of Credits.
Among the various programs, the largest number of graduates completed associate degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and healthcare programs, including Radiography, Physical Therapy Assistant, and the Chatt Tech Nursing LPN to RN bridge program. Other popular programs included Computer Programming, Cybersecurity, Cosmetology, Welding, and Early Childhood Care & Education.
The keynote address at both ceremonies was delivered by Breana Miller, a Chattahoochee Tech student and the recipient of the 2023 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership. Miller, who graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant, encouraged graduates to embrace challenges as opportunities and let the lessons learned at Chatt Tech propel them toward success.
A total of 92 students who completed their programs as honor graduates were recognized with gold cords. Additionally, seven Chattahoochee Tech students who participated in commencement were U.S. military veterans and wore red, white, and blue honor cords.
The ceremony also included six Dual Enrollment high school students who earned college academic credentials while still enrolled in their high schools. Five high school students in the Dual Achievement program earned both their high school diplomas from the Chatt Tech Academy and college-level academic credentials this semester.
