ORIGINAL STORY

The Cobb County Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation following the discovery of the lifeless body of 22-year-old Austell resident, Beauty Couch. Couch’s remains were found near a wooded area in Austell.

Around 12:18 p.m. on Wednesday, Austell Fire received a call to respond to Joe Jerkins Boulevard and Landers Street to extinguish a brush fire. Upon arrival, they encountered a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames. The Police intervened to put out the fire and subsequently had the vehicle towed to a wrecker yard. Austell police visited the address where the vehicle was registered and discovered that the vehicle was primarily used by the owner’s daughter, Beauty Couch, who had not been seen since Tuesday morning.

Police revisited the location where the vehicle was initially found and made a grim discovery—a body that matched the description of Beauty Couch was located in the nearby wooded area. Austell police requested the assistance of the Cobb County Police.

The Cobb County Police’s major crimes unit is leading the investigation and is treating the death as a homicide. Based on their initial examination of the scene, they believe that her death was the result of foul play. Police are urging anyone with information related to this incident to call the Cobb County Police Tip Hotline at 770-499-4111.
