Share

An Atlanta man was left dead after being shot behind the Taco Mac  in the Parkway Pointe shopping center, not far from the Akers Mill Square shops.

According to Sgt. Wayne Delk, spokesperson for Cobb Police, Larry Miller, 24, was shot multiple times in the parking deck on Monday around 12:19 p.m. Miller’s grandmother confirmed he is the father of a 1 year old baby.

Miller was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Peter Lampley, 29, of Dallas, was detained in the shooting and later charged with Miller’s murder.

Though it was unclear why Lampley shot Miller, Delk said Lampley and Miller arrived at the Taco Mac together while on a lunch break. Police said the shooting started inside a car in the restaurant’s parking lot. Witnesses told police that Lampley chased Miller with his pants down.

Lampley was still booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Monday night and was being held without bond.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police officials at 770-499-3945.
