A 17-year-old, identified as Scott Foor of Powder Springs, was arrested, and charged with aggravated assault and possessing a gun on school property following a shooting incident in the McEachern High School parking lot on Thursday afternoon.
Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to reports of a shooting at McEachern High. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals in the school’s parking lot with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims, not McEachern students, had been involved in a physical altercation with a McEachern student.
Foor, who was initially described as a witness to the altercation, produced a pistol and shot both victims. Another unidentified suspect also brandished a firearm, leading to gunfire but without causing further injuries.
The victims, whose identities were not disclosed, suffered superficial gunshot wounds—one to the arm and the other to the leg. One victim is reported to be 21 years old, and the other is a student at an “adult learning school.” The motive behind the altercation is still under investigation.
Cobb County Police reported that Foor was taken into custody in Union City at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday. He is currently held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation into the shooting remains active, with authorities working to identify the second shooter. Authorities urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact them at 770-499-4111.
