Westside Park opens to the public

Share

Years after Atlanta purchased an old quarry, located in the northwest part of the city, along with hundreds of surrounding acres, Westside Park opened to the public last week. It became the city of Atlanta’s largest park. Though located in Atlanta, the park is just a few miles away from neighboring South Cobb communities (just north of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway) and is a perfect place for families to enjoy. Visitors are encouraged to drive through the iconic dinosaur rib-cage entrance and explore all Westside Park has to offer including beautiful trails and the “Birth of Atlanta” sculpture. A trip to the new park will not be complete without checking out the breathtaking Grand Overlook. The Park is located at 1660 Johnson Road NW, Atlanta and is open daily 6 a.m. – 11 p.m.
