Following the recent shooting outside McEachern High School, authorities have secured arrest warrants on Wednesday for a third individual involved in the shooting incident.

According to Cobb Police, Jean Germain, initially identified as one of the victims on Feb. 1, is now facing charges related to the shooting. Germain, 20, is specifically charged with possession of a firearm in a school zone and loitering on school property.

Currently Germain is at large. Details regarding when he became a suspect were not disclosed by police.

After the shooting, Germain was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but it is unknown when he was released from being treated.

Two other suspects, identified as McEachern students, have already been apprehended. Scott Anthony Foor Jr., 17, is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a firearm on school property.

The third suspect, a minor, whose name has not been released, is charged with possession of a firearm on school grounds and possession of a firearm by a minor.

The incident, which occurred in the high school’s parking lot on New Macland Road, involved two victims who were not McEachern students but had a previous altercation with a student, as stated by Cobb police Officer Aaron Wilson. The gunfire prompted a temporary lockdown of the Powder Springs school.

Foor was arrested in Union City and is currently held in the Cobb jail without bond. His arrest warrant indicates that he witnessed the fight and subsequently discharged a handgun multiple times, injuring one victim in the leg and the other in the arm.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Cobb County Police Department Major Crimes Unit at 770-499-4111.
