TSU & Meharry Medical College Creates pipeline for African American doctors

Tennessee State University and Meharry Medical College want to see more African American doctors and dentists in underserved communities and have partnered to create an accelerated pathway program – named in honor of Dr. Levi Watkins Jr., a TSU graduate and internationally renowned cardiac surgeon who was the first to successfully implant an automatic defibrillator in a human patient at John Hopkins.
