Trader Joe’s Chicken Soup Dumplings recalled

Share

Trader Joe’s is recalling over 61,000 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumplings due to potential contamination with foreign materials — “specifically hard plastic from a permanent marker pen”.

The dumplings, produced by CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corp. in California, are sold under the name ‘Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings.’ Consumers are urged to check their freezers for 6-ounce packages with lot codes 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2, produced on December 7, 2023.

The recall follows consumer reports of finding hard plastic in the product, though no related illnesses or injuries have been reported to date, according to the Agriculture Department’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The FSIS advises consumers to take immediate action regarding the recalled products. In a news release, they stated, “FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

For more information or assistance, consumers can reach out to CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corporation’s Consumer Experience Department at 800-544-6855.
