Toyota Recalls 162,000 Tundra Trucks Over Faulty Multimedia Screens

WASHINGTON, DC — Toyota has announced a recall of approximately 162,000 pickup trucks in the United States due to a multimedia display malfunction that could pose a safety risk for drivers.
The recall affects certain 2024 and 2025 model-year Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles. According to the company, the issue involves the trucks’ multimedia screens, which may either become stuck on a camera view or go completely dark under specific conditions.
Toyota warned that the malfunction could prevent drivers from accessing the backup camera image while reversing, increasing the risk of an accident. The defect may also place the vehicles out of compliance with federal safety standards that require rear visibility systems to function properly.
Affected vehicle owners are currently being notified, Toyota said, and the company has not yet released details on the remedy. Typically, recall repairs are provided at no cost to customers once a fix is available.
Drivers who own a 2024 or 2025 Tundra or Tundra Hybrid are encouraged to monitor notifications from Toyota and check their vehicle identification number (VIN) through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall website or Toyota’s customer service portal.
Toyota emphasized that safety remains a top priority and advised drivers to exercise caution when reversing if their vehicle exhibits any display issues until repairs are completed.
