Veterans Day pays tribute to the brave individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Originally established as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of hostilities in World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, it later transformed into Veterans Day in 1954. This federal holiday recognizes the enduring contributions and sacrifices made by veterans across different military conflicts.
