Smyrna Police officers possibly poisoned via papers, FBI investigating

Police have arrested Little Gaston Stone and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault against Smyrna police officers after presenting them with paperwork investigators believe was laced with a substance.
The substance caused the officers to experience symptoms including extreme fatigue, chest pain, chest tightness, dizziness, and difficulty breathing. Stone, 51, was arrested on Tuesday and is currently held in Cobb jail without bond.
Following the incident, the FBI is now investigating the alleged poisoning and conducting additional tests on the paperwork.
According to the warrant, the incident occurred when Stone entered the Smyrna Police Department headquarters, filming the visit on a tablet and mentioning Gov. Brian Kemp. Stone handed two officers paperwork intended for Chief Keith Zgnoc.
The Officers took possession of two pieces of paper, and Mr. Stone quickly exited the building before walking North on Atlanta Rd.,” the warrant read. Shortly after receiving the papers, the officers reported symptoms and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to the arrest warrant, Stone had a prior criminal record and was already on probation at the time of his arrest.
In October, he pleaded guilty to terroristic threats, receiving a 12-month probation sentence. Additionally, Cobb court records show that Stone had previous probation terms for aggravated assault in 1996 and 2004.
The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement focusing on the nature of the substance found in the paperwork and its potential impact on the officers. Stone faces serious charges related to the assault on law enforcement officers. He was arrested on Tuesday and is currently held in Cobb jail without bond.
