SMYRNA CANDIDATE FORUM TONIGHT, Public Invited to Attend

Share

Join us tonight for the Smyrna Candidate Forum! All Smyrna residents, local businesses, and the general public are invited to meet the candidates running for Smyrna Mayor and City Council.

All candidates were invited weeks ago to participate in this event for the benefit of the citizens of Smyrna. This forum will allow voters to hear directly from the candidates on where they stand on issues of concern to the citizens.

Brought to you by the Cobb County Democracy Center, in collaboration with community partners including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, this forum aims to provide valuable insights into the candidates before the upcoming elections on November 7, 2023. Early voting has already begun for municipal elections across cities in Cobb including Acworth, Austell, Kennesaw, Powder Springs, and Smyrna. Citizens in all of these communities are encouraged to learn about the candidates running to understand the issues and exercise their rights to vote.

Said Cobb Democracy Center Executive Director Dr. Monica Brown, “Our goal is to empower voters with the knowledge they need and foster engagement within our community regarding the forthcoming election, ultimately enhancing public awareness of the election process and the candidates in the running. Please plan to attend the forum tonight at the Smyrna Community Center, located at 200 Village Green, in downtown Smyrna. A reception with the candidates will be held at 6:00 p.m. and the forum will commence at 6:30 p.m.

Municipal elections are important and public participation and engagement in these types of forums are highly appreciated, as it contributes to the democratic process and the strength of the community.

We look forward to seeing you there!
