Shots Fired at South Cobb High School Football Game, One Injured and One Arrested

One person was injured and another arrested following a shooting during a football game at South Cobb High School on Saturday evening. Cobb Police Officers responded to the scene at approximately 9 p.m., where a juvenile male suspect was arrested and charged with several offenses, including aggravated assault, reckless conduct, minor in possession of a firearm, criminal trespass, and violation of probation.
According to Officer S.A. Barner, the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to recover fully.The Cobb School District clarified that the event was not a district-organized activity but was hosted by an outside organization through a facility use request. A game between South Cobb’s eighth-grade football team and Walton-Blue’s eighth-grade team had been scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at South Cobb High School, per the Georgia Middle School Athletic Association.
The Cobb Police Department is continuing its investigation and asked that anyone in the community with information to contact their office.
