NEW YORK — Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, was sentenced Friday to four years in federal prison and fined $500,000 after being convicted of transporting girlfriends and male sex workers across state lines for drug-fueled sexual encounters.
Combs, who has already served one year, is expected to remain behind bars for roughly three more years. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which could have carried life sentences.
In court, Combs called his actions “disgusting and shameful” and apologized to those he harmed. The trial featured testimony from multiple women describing abuse, threats, and sexual exploitation over many years.
US District Judge Arun Subramanian emphasized that Combs’ wealth and power allowed him to continue his misconduct for so long. Defense lawyers highlighted his career, philanthropy, and personal life in a bid for leniency, but prosecutors called for accountability for the victims.
