Get ready for a season filled with merriment and community engagement in Powder Springs as the city launches into the Christmas season with its annual parade on Friday, December 1st. This marks the beginning of a month brimming with festive activities in Powder Springs.
The parade will kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the Powder Springs Library, following a route onto Marietta Street via Old Austell Road, making its way downtown, and concluding at Thurman Springs Park.
A highlight of the parade will be the arrival of Santa Claus at Thurman Springs Park, accompanied by the enchanting tunes of the McEachern High School Band. At 7:30 p.m., the city will illuminate the holiday spirit with its tree lighting ceremony at the Hardy Family Automotive Amphitheater.
Attendees can revel in the joy of the season with holiday performances by local groups, and indulge in complimentary Santa photos, cookies, and cocoa.
Post tree lighting, the city will host the Reindeer Scavenger Hunt, a delightful citywide activity lasting until January 4th. Participants can embark on a quest to find missing reindeer scattered across the city. Those who successfully complete the scavenger hunt are invited to the BookWorm Bookstore at 4451 Marietta Street to claim a special prize bag.
For additional details on the Reindeer Scavenger Hunt, interested individuals can access more information on the city’s website, cityofpowersprings.org, starting in December.
