A Powder Springs man, Gregory Pascal Sagnan, was indicted by a Cobb grand jury this week for vehicular homicide after he allegedly crashed a car while under the influence of alcohol, resulting in the death of a 12-year-old boy and injuries to another 12-year-old boy.

Sagnan, 38, is charged with three counts of first degree vehicular homicide, DUI, two counts of endangering a child while driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain and speeding in the April 22 crash that left Elie Sagnan dead.

According to investigators, Sagnan was driving north on Brown Road around 11:33 a.m. on Saturday, April 22. He failed to maintain his lane on a curve as he approached Brown Leaf Trail. Police say that the car then left the road before hitting several trees. Elie Sagnan, who was seated in the left rear seat, died as a result of his injuries in the crash. The other 12-year-old boy, who was in the front right seat, received non-life-threatening injuries. Sagnan also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.
