Pedestrian killed by car on Austell Road

Cobb County police say that a Marietta man, Filiberto Ramirez-Hernandez, was hit and killed by a car early Friday morning on Austell Road near the intersection with Hurt Road.

Just past midnight, Ramirez-Hernandez, 53, was crossing the road within the crosswalk when he was hit and thrown into the street by a Mercedes driven by Dain Hines, 39, of Atlanta. Ramirez-Hernandez was pronounced dead after being rushed to Wellstar Cobb Hospital.
